As a lifelong surfer, I have been to many shops. From a board standpoint, this place has the best selection of used boards in San Diego. The prices aren't too bad either. Bring in some boards and trade them out for used ones.

I do a good deal of equipment shopping here. They definitely have the best and widest selection around. I don't get my boards here because the prices are pretty high, but they have a pretty awesome selection. This is a 2 story location, with all surf gear upstairs. The boards are all lined up along the walls and railings and very nicely displayed. They have good deals on suits, I've gotten 2 from here on sale. The guys up there are helpful and knowledgeable. The downstairs is all clothing and sandals. One thing I do really like is they have a half level down toward the back is a kids section. It's all kids clothes and shoes and a good selection. Again, it's pretty expensive, but I can be pretty cheap sometimes.

I visited here last week because we're looking at buying a surf board for our son's birthday. I knew absolutely nothing, so went in and told them that. Trevor, the saleperson who helped me was extremely friendly, extremely knowledgable, and extremely helpful. He told me everything he could think of, answered all my questions, and never made me feel rushed or pressured. I'd recommend visiting them if you're in the market for a board!

I've been looking all over for an O'Neill Psycho II 3/2 wetsuit and finally found it at Surf Ride, except they didn't have my size... or at least that's what I thought.

One of their employees called over to their other store to see if they had it... and they did! Within the same day they already had it transferred down to their Solana Beach store, where I was at. I got it so quick, I was still able to hit up the evening session!

PROS: Great Customer Service!
CONS: Wish they were open 24/7
