I usually don't write reviews online, but after my experience at SUR last night, I was compelled to do so. I had planned a very special dinner for a dear friend's Bach-ette. 10 ladies ready to celebrate and have a great time. I had been in contact with Nathalie who is in charge of private parties since I decided it would be best to have a pre-set menu. We agreed on the terms and our menus were set. Upon arriving our table was ready and very beautifully done. That's when things took a turn for the worse. According to our agreements, we were supposed to have 4 appetizers for the table to share, 1 Entree per person and 1 dessert. The food was fine. Nothing to rave about, and nothing horrible to comment on. The portions are very generous, that's a plus I guess. We ordered lots of drinks, wine, etc and were having a lovely time. THEN..... comes the bill. They charged us for the apps which was not what we agreed to. I went back and forth with a very rude manager who proceeded to tell me that I was making a mistake and that the apps were additional. Nathalie was not at the restaurant herself, so I asked the manager to call her. Once I got on the phone with her, she completely tried to make it seem like it was MY fault and that I had made a a mistake. We went back and forth for about 10 minutes and which point she said that I had misunderstood and that there was nothing she could do!!!!!! WHAT THE ##$%$#@!??? We were totally screwed and they have no idea how to run a good restaurant. The concept of having customers leave happy and satisfied means absolutely nothing to them I want to make it clear that this was not about the money. It was principle. We agreed on terms and then last minute she changed everything around. I am NEVER going back to this horrible place and I would urge anyone who is considering visiting SUR to take your business elsewhere. Not worth it at all.

Wow, Wow, Wow, By far the most amazing restaurant I have ever been to. My sister who happen to be best friends with the owners told me to go check it out. My fiance and I went and asked for the owners and they gave us an awesome table. While they were getting our table ready we had a drink at the bar.
Once at the table we had the most amazing food and the service, out of this world.
The design of the restaurant was to die for and the music was amazing.
The owners are the nicest people I have ever met.

My new husband took me there on our Wedding Day after eloping at the Beverly Hils Courthouse with our 16month old...It was beautiful the food was absolutely excellent, and the service was very nice it was surprisingly descently priced (alot less than I thought a place like that would be) Also we got there for an early dinner so there weren't too many people it was more quiet and romantic but when people did start showing up, luckily LOL they turned up the good music which was good with the little one getting ancy.

We had dinner at Sur Restaurant while on vacation recently in LA. We were fortunate enough to be seated on the patio which is really beautiful. The food was great. We had the goat cheese appetizer along with the steamed chicken and shrimp dumplings, both of which were fabulous. The server was friendly and made great recommendations including her wine choice. I would highly recommend this place.

I had heard such great such great things about Sur, that I was so looking forward to my visit. My wife and I are foodies and restaurant snobs. We went a couple weeks ago for teh first time with our friends before attending a show and we had the best time. We were seated right away and our waitress, Pandora, was so beautiful she could have been a supermodel. In fact all the waitresses were not only beautiful but genuinely nice, attentive and considerate to the fact that we had to get out of there on time. I ordered the Sea Bass which was amazing, cooked to perfection. The Pino Grigio our waitress recommended was exquisite. The dining room is absolutely beautiful. It was one of the first warm nights we were getting in Los Angeles so we sat outside. The fresh breeze , the flickering candles, and the intoxicating aroma is so magical you almost feel you are in a movie or have traveled back to some romantic time and destination. I could not wait to go back again. So we went back again tonight. The food both times was amongst the best we have had. And the desert was ourof this world. The service was friendly, warm and very professional. I will definitely come back a few times this summer and would love to try everything on the menu. The food reminds you of an authentic European restaurant ( if your mom was the Chef). Beautiful people, beautiful food, beautiful Celebrities ( we were sitting next to them). I am addicted.
