Several times I have been in there and the front desk employees have not been clear with the $$ it would cost. One time I was presented a release form that I signed which they failed to go with me and when I came to pick up my pet 30 extra $$ on my bill. After it all they never admitted that they did anything wrong and now they have asked that I not come back. Blew me away.‎

The BEST in the Hill Country!: Sunset Canyon Veterinary Clinic is by far the best facility I've taken my pets to. The building is huge and beautifully built. Very rustic and comfortable...with a fireplace thats always lit in cold weather. All the Vets whom I have met are obviously concerned about my pets while keeping MY interests in mind as far as available treatments, costs and options for my pets when they are ill. This clinic takes excellent care of small animals as well as horses, cattle, alpaccas, goats, sheep, not to mention exotics. (And I just about have 1 of everything.. sometimes 2!) They make timely ranch calls, keep appointments well. I've had x-rays done. I've had ultra sounds done. I've had all types of bloodwork done. They can just about do it all. The doctors I've worked with have never left me hanging, wondering what what was going on with my pet. The technicians have always been courteous, knowledgable and very helpful. And I've never had an issue with the prices. Not to mention they have always kept some of the same great front desk staff for YEARS. That alone speaks volumes for what kind of people they are. My animals have all been spayed or neutered there and several of my dogs get regular teeth cleanings. I've seen their ICU area... it's emaculate. They also have kennel space there for boarding cats dogs and sometimes large animals. I'll never take my furrkids anywhere else for as long as I live within driving distance. I posted this review a while back but I thought I'd update it since they now have a turn lane in front of they're driveway so you don't have the pucker and pray when trying to turn in.

I highly recommend this vet clinic to any and all who are looking for affordable, quality service for your animal. I just recently had my 2nd visit to their facility for my poor old cat who will likely have to cross the rainbow bridge real soon. Dr. Pitman was sooooooooo understanding and compassionate. I wasn't ready to say goodbye to my old friend and Dr. Pitman did not pressure me to make the dicision to euthanize. I was given the facts about what was going on with him and then she told me my options which included further testing and supportive care for his renal failure. But she was very up front with me about the prognisis and I knew that my old man wasn't long for this world. It's a sad, sad thing to loose a pet... a friend, that you've had for so long (17 years). I'm really grateful Dr. Pitman is as patient and caring as she is. It was very much appreciated. Definately will go back there with any future pets.

This vet hospital is amazing! I love it. I started going there in 2000 when my family moved to Dripping Springs. I still take all of my animals there and now I live way up on Anderson Lane! That has to tell you something! The friendly staff, the wonderful doctors, and the general attitude of the place makes me want to keep coming back even with gas prices the way they are this vet is still worth the drive (the one hour drive). As long as I live in Austin they will be my vet.

I live in south Austin and a good 25-mile one-way trip to Sunset Canyon Vet Clinic. I have been a loyal customer since 2001, when my puppy was a puppy. Without a shadow of a doubt expect no less than the best treatment and care for your pet along with reasonable expense. I wish I had learned about the clinic from the day I brought my puppy home. I know that certain situations could have been avoided not to mention major expense! The staff at Sunset is always friendly and helpful and more important, the doctors will give you 100% of their time and really know how to put on their listening cap and hear what your questions/concerns are. There is no "rush" attitude. It's not close, but it's worth every gorgeous mile, even at almost $4/gal gas!!!
