I brought my cat to the Sunset Pet Hospital for a "slight" emergency visit. It was a Sunday and my usual cat hospital was closed. I remembered the Sunset hospital and thought I would give it a try. When I called they did not have any openings, but they advised me to come in and wait. I am so glad I did. The staff was understanding and helpful and the Dr. was great. Not only was it cheaper than my regular cat hospital, but I felt that my cat was in great hands at Sunset! They have a customer for life.

In addition to veterinary services and products, the business sells gift items. I purchased a wall clock and returned it three days later because I was unable to remove the adhesive from the price sticker on the front of the clock without damaging the finish. They didn't have another clock of the same style to exchange it so I asked for a refund. They refused to credit back my credit card and refused a cash refund, saying that the company policy was that only the business owner could issue a refund. I was told I would receive a refund check in six to eight weeks. As of Dec 11, 2008, it has been over 15 weeks since I returned the clock and I still haven't received my $54.00 refund check. I have tried to reach the owner, Mrs. Kathy Griffiths, numerous times at the business unsuccessfully. She has yet to return any of my phone messages or those messages employees have said they would pass on to her. I have talked to the person who "pays the bills" three times, and she has told me repeatedly that neither she or any other staff members can help me as the only person in the business who can issue my refund is Mrs. Griffiths. This business practice is unethical, illogical, and possibly illegal. Upon research it appears that the return/refund policy of Sunset Animal Medical Center is possibly also in violation of the law as described in California Civil Code Section 1723.

The Fair Oaks Animal Clinic & Hospital is the absolute BEST in the city! Fast service, easy appts, friendly staff and the finest Drs you could ask for, besides all this, the price is more than fair. The staff treats your pets (kids) as if they were their own and always consider the parents feelings too. I would NEVER take my adoring kids anywhere else, I wouldn't even consider it! I love this place and all their employees.

I have been bringing my animals to this clinic for over 20 years. Dr. Griffths, Dr. Wallace, and Dr. Arbios have all saved the lives of my animals on multiple occasions, and have provided the best possible veterinary service at all times. Not only do they genuinely care about the animals they treat, they are always helpful and involved with the animal owners as well. When my current dog needed an urgent surgery, Dr. Griffiths (who had already finished his work for the day) volunteered to drive all the way back to work to perform the surgery. In addition, both Dr. Arbios and Dr. Wallace have both performed multiple successful surgeries on my dog and have even called me at work when they knew I was worried about the outcome. I would trust these vets with the lives of any of my animals (or my own, if they would agree to be my doctor as well!) In fact, my dog considers Dr. Arbios and Dr. Wallace to be his two favorite people and loves them deeply, which is the best review of all (from the dog's perspective). In my volunteer time I run an animal nonprofit and speak to hundreds of vets around the country. These vets are not only the best in Sacramento, but are the best vets you will find anywhere. We are very lucky to have them in Sacramento, and I owe my animals health and longevity to them without any doubt whatsoever. Their support staff, both office staff and vet techs are also loving and skilled animal lovers who have personally watched over my animals when they were recuperating in the hospital. They have been dedicated, serious health care providers for at least the past two decades, and I would not recommend any veterinary hospital more strongly than this one.

Really good hospital. I can't understand the post about them "wanting just your money" must have been the pet owner that was the pain. We take our animals there and they do great by them. Highly suggest them
