I have filed a Licensing Board complaint and am preparing to file a suit against Sunco Construction and its principals for over $ 100,000 for overpayments unlawfully obtained from me for unperformed work. They claimed to accept my 'at cost job' to keep their contractors from jumping to other jobs and to get into the medical office business! They performed 5% of the project themselves, paid 5% to outside engineering/design to get permits passed and 10% to one critical (cabinet) vendor when we insisted on meeting them. Meanwhile, they obtained with soft coercion 65% of the project funds, and flagrantly tried to get me to give up almost the entire project cost in consultation and overheads settlement, although there was nothing in the budget for them to begin with. Next, they will use my funds to fight me in court and hope the judgment will let them keep as much as they can of their ill-gotten gains. When I called a recent bath and kitchen remodeling expo organizer to see if Sunco was participating, they told me that it was having cash problems and could not pay the $ 1100 participation fee!! They are practiced in their responses in court. If you want something to hurt worse than the economy, hire Sunco! I have a list of at least 20 former clients, contractors and employees who will tell you horrendous tales of tens of thousands of dollars each. The cost of litigation usually forces these victims to just walk away from Hydra.
