Summerhill 1970 to 1974ish
Summerhill was a trip. There is where my whole structured life changed. I went to Summerhill when it was located in North Hollywood, California then later on it moved to two locations in Calabasas. Ollie Haskell ran the show then. It was an unsual school where there really was not any structure and probably about 98 percent of the enrollments and their families were hippies. It was fun for me at the time because I was 13 to 16.5 years old during my attendance. Back then the school aged children were from 5 years old through to 12th grade and the population was both male and female. I wonder when it changed to all boys? And now it is in Escondido. One year, we had a field trip (about 2 weeks long) to Escondido. It was a blast! I have often thought where everyone ended up. I remember names like, Joe S.
