Best ski area in the East hands down!
This place deserves five stars, it really does. The only problem is that they charge an arm and a leg for ticket prices. This is coming from the son of an employee and former 8 year season pass holder too, so I feel guilty. I still gave them 4 stars on value since the quality of skiing is so amazing. Not worth your price of admission, but still amazing. Its an amazing mountain with amazing staff in many of the departments whether they are the ski school, food service, mountain ops, or ski patrol, there are many great people working there. It's not surprising. like I said because Stowe is one of the most amazing resorts to ski in the entire country. No wonder so many great people have chosen to make a living there. Do your self a favor and get here once in your life.

Comparing....
Comparing Stowe to Killington is a little like comparing a jaguar to a water buffalo. True, they've both got eyes, noses, legs, tails etc. and they're both mammals and all, but they're, well... different. Really different.
Ski them both, then you'll know.
My hunch is, you'll want to come back to Stowe.
Just a hunch...

Lift open by Ginger D. at InsiderPages
We just went to VT on vacation and went to this place for a hike. We were able to ride the lift before ski season and hike down the mountain. It was really nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful since we weren't from the area.

Stowe, Vermont
I spent many school vacations at Stowe with my Aunt Linda and Uncle Charlie Lord. I was there when it was just beginning to become popular. I loved it then and still do even though I haven't been back for a few years. Getting a bit too old to travel now. It's a wonderful place. Unfortunately, I never learned to ski. Uncle Charlie didn't seem to have the patience for me. The town still needs a regular stop light at the beginning of the mountain road. That flashing red light isn't going to do it.

Great skiing by T.R. G. at InsiderPages
Stowe is big mountain skiing in the East! Stowe has not lost the charm of a smaller resort, but offers world class amenities as well as great skiing. They have some seriously steep terrain!
