garlic!!!!!
the complimentary bread with garlic was probably the best part of my meal. It was fresh and soft and *almost* melted in my mouth. The olive oil was also good.
I had the Stinking Rose house salad which was basically ice berg lettuce with some tomatoes and olive oil -- standard. The garlic french fries tasted like regular french fries but maybe it's because my taste buds were already overpowered by all the olive oil/chopped up garlic I had with my bread.I also had the fillet mignon medium well done which was not that tender and didn't have that much flavor. Didn't taste much of the garlic.
Mashed potatoes were tasty though!
Also had some garlic ice cream which was a nice novelty. I could feel the spicy tingle of the garlic in the back of my throat after this one.
Ambiance is cute reminds me of bucca di beppo with all of the black and white pictures hanging around. I was with a big group so we didn't sit at Lover's Lane but it looks cozy.
It was a friend of a friend's birthday and the restaurant does this cute thing where they bring a garlic hat for the birthday boy/girl to wear and take a picture (not to keep...just to take a picture with, haha)
They also have garlic souvenirs and a funky line of garlic-infused sauces sold near the entrance.
pros: complimentary bread, mashed potatoes, garlic ice cream
cons: mediocre salad, mediocre fillet mignon, a bit overpriced for food quality.
