I am currently having a big problem and I need a quick answer. I had a fire in my apartment. My son was hungry so I put some oil in a pan and then I hear him screaming from upstairs. I ran up and everything from his waist up was hanging out the window in our upstairs bathroom. By the time I got downstairs their was a fire in my kitchen. I grabbed my two year old and my 4 month old and ran over to the managers apartment to get a fire extinguisher and then called the fire department. Their was damage to the kitchen and smoke damage to the downstairs. Before we even moved in I told the manager to put screens on the windows and the door to go upstairs so I could keep a closer eye on my mischievous son. That did not get done. Now my landlord wants me to pay the $1000.00 deductible for his insurance, so my question is can I take him to court and get this resolved in any way? Please contact me at mandosmama@yahoo.com.
