My horrible experience with starving students is my motivation for starting MojoPages.com. The experience started with a simple search through the phone book. There was Starving Students boasting BBB membership, family owned and operated etc. Seemed like a safe bet and I could relate to the name considering I'd been living off Top Ramen for the past few years.

I called them up and they once I explained the move they informed me it would be around $300 for the move. I set up an appointment and the moving team arrived at my house the following Sunday. The movers were pretty slow but that didn't bother me I'd reserved the whole day for the move. Considering I only had limited possessions like a couch, bed, TV and a few other boxes of junk I figured it couldn't take too long. Well between their breaks and some of the slowest moving movers I'd even seen they managed to take up most of the day.

At the end of the day they walked me around to the back of the moving van and showed me my TV still tied up in the back (held hostage) and gave me my bill. The bill said over $1,100 on it. I actually laughed out loud when I saw it. But they weren't joking and informed me that unless i pay it they will take my TV. Holy moley! They were actually ripping me off, poor little broke college kid me. I was in shock but tried to argue my case anyway. They weren't budging and actually started getting pretty mean and scary. I decided their was no point continuing on as these guys were about 4 times my size and obviously lacking in the ethics department. So I caved and paid the ridicules price.

In the end though I'm glad it happened, because it made me mad enough to start MojoPages. It's pain that usually is the basis for all great companies. So thanks Starving Students! and in return here's a 1 star vote for you! Time to stop ripping people off or sites like MojoPages will expose you and you'll be beat by the moving companies that are doing a great job taking care of their customers.
