Overall: Starving Students is the reason I created MojoPages in the first place. About 4 years ago I needed to find a mover, so I asked my friends first (no one had a good referral) so I then checked the yellow pages. I picked Starving Students because they had a name that I could relate to because there is no way of knowing a good business from a bad one when using the Yellow Pages.
To make a long story short I was quoted around $300 and eventually charged $1200. They actually held my TV hostage in the back of the moving van until I paid. I begged and pleaded but they wouldn't budge. They claimed the move took longer than expected. To be fair i did ask them to stop by my storage unit which was about 1-2 miles out of the way and took an extra hour of work but that was no justification for charging me 4 times the original quote.
Now this was 4 years ago so it's very possible Starving Students has cleaned up their act. All in all I'm thankful of this horrible experience because it pissed me off just enough to get passionate about starting MojoPages.com to bring transparency to businesses and power to consumers.
