Who knew the Best brunch in LA was on 3rd in Long beach?
Start off you meal with scones (when available T_T) and out come hot, soft, buttery, scones with homemade butter and lemon curd sauce. Think when was the last time you actually had a scones made only an hour before.
Then I ordered a bloody Mary (I mean it's brunch why not) and out came this small sculpture of these thin greens, a crab claw holding a lemon, and a nicely frosted mug. I always ask for mine spicy (if you don't like spicy the regular has a punch but it's not too bad...for me), the greens really go well with the kick.
Me and my girl shared the stuffed french toast with saute brandy pears (I mean come on, yum! :0 ) Who hates sugar infused food! I had a stuff french toast from roots gourmet and it was sugary and greasy. The STARLING french toast was stuffed with mascarpone, dudes it totally compliments the complex sweetness of brandy apples with its creamy richness. This is a french like no others. period. period.
We also shared the cheeseburger scramble, if you want to have you're scramble eggs with a delicious beef patty then your search is over. What makes this good? Good beef plan and simple, naturally goes well with Cheddar and then bam! eggs. Hearty and simply relies on good ingredients
I go on the weekend cause of work and it's a zoo if you go before 9:00 to 1:30; But I know anyplace worth their weight in food is just as busy, so that why I keep coming back; because if I'm going to wait on the weekend why not wait for the best breakfast in long beach!!!!
P.S. I wish I could stop by for lunch during the weekend when I need a gourmet pick-me-up
