My company used Springfield Banquet & Conference Center for an awards banquet. The facility is very nice, the waitstaff was very accomodating. Our staff and guests all had a good time.

What a depressing place. Though my friend made reservations ahead of time, upon arrival they told us they were just closing down. We finally got them to agree to serve us but I almost wish they hadn't. I hated the faux-genteel atmosphere. It seemed like something that people who are not at all worldy and haven't been exposed to much would consider "fancy." The place felt so old-ladyish, with ugly floral designs everywhere and lots of dust on the fake plants. I asked for water and they brought it in plastic cups! How tacky. The tea was okay, the sandwiches pretty good, the cakes too sweet. For some reason they have a huge selection of very worn feather boas and hats which you're supposed to wear while eating and drinking. Ew, who wants to wear a hat worn by dozens of people? And why is that considered appropriate tea attire? I've been to tea places in New York, Boston and all over Europe and nobody wears junk like that to go out for tea. If you want an old-fashioned atmopshere that's not musty and depressing, It's worth the drive to Pasadena to go to the Tea Rose Garden for a flowery CLEAN atmosphere where they understand how to really serve tea in a beautiful atmosphere, the food and tea are MUCH better and they wouldn't dream of serving water in a plastic disposable cup.
