I had received 2 jersey's as a gift&of course they were the wrong size!I stopped by this store since I was doing some shopping in the area&decided to exchange them. The jersey's were never worn&had the original tags still on, it was given to me less than a week ago. So when I approached the register,I told the young man that I wanted to exchange them for a different size, he told me to go grab whatever I was going to exchange it for&just bring it back to the register. When i returned to the register,he needed a code in order to approve the exchange. He asked a lady by the name of "Sue" to approve the transaction. She asked if I had the original receipt&I told her that it was a gift&it had the original tags. She said that her store policy said that I could exchange if I had a receipt or if i knew the exact date that it was purchased&it could only be exchanged with in 90days.I asked to see a copy of the store policy since it sounded out of the ordinary. This is the store policy:"You will be asked for a valid photo ID(driver's license, state id,govt id) that will be recorded upon the transaction.(your information will not be shared or sold). All merchandise(excluding footwear) must be returned within 90days of the purchase. After 90days, we will issue a Merchandise Credit for the full purchase amount, if accompanied by a receipt. Cannot be returned for cash or credit. If a receipt is not presented with non footwear related purchases,a Merchandise Credit with be issued with the amount of credit determined by the lowest selling price of the item within the last 30days prior to the return/ exchange."In my case, since I did not have a receipt, according to the store policy,I was supposed to receive either a credit for the lowest amount possible or receive store credit. It had nothing to do with ninety days. There is no time limit because obviously a receipt is not present to show a date. After reading the store policy, I urged her to accept the items. She refused to do the transaction, then she went on to change the store policy once again. She stated that the original receipt was a must or an exact date of purchase.Out of no where another lady came to the register claiming that she was the assistant manager&that the store policy didn't allow my exchange. She wasn't in store uniform&did not have a name tag.She did'nt reveal her name.I read the store policy back to her& she was just rude& said that she wasn'tgoing to do it whether I liked it or not&she could care less about what the policy said. She kept insisting that I give her an exact date because I only had 90days to do the exchange. I had to make a phone call to Italy &wake my mother in law up to ask if she remembered when she purchased the jersey's.Of course she couldn't remember the exact date,so I told her two dates that were back to back as a possible date of purchase. She said she was only going to look for 1of the days in her system&hat was going to be the only thing that she was going to do.Conveniently the merchandise did'nt show to have been sold on that date. Then she mentioned that her system only recognized merchandise that were sold out of that store only. They refused to make my exchanged or issue store credit. Their unprofessional behavior was escalating. I just decided to get the manager's information&take action later.I was shocked by the treatment that I had received at that location&wanted to let every1 know that the staff at this location are very unprofessional&perhaps even racist. That same day I took the merchandise to a local store& the transaction was made,no questions asked.I would hope that management would review this incident&would stand by their own policy. They violated the return policy&I will take every action necessary to hold them accountable for the inconvenience &the humiliation that they caused me.
