My wife always make it to Monterey once a year and always stay at the Spindrift. We love it's central location to everything. The best time to be at the Spindrift is early in the morning eating breakfast and reading the newspaper in front of the fireplace. We have stayed on the cannery side and the ocean side both are comfortable. Everyone has their own view on the staff, they all have been courtious to me, my wife might beg to differ, but everyone has good days and bad. If you have a chance to stay at the Spindrift take it. Granted it is more for the older crowds but I would not let that stop you from having the time of your life.

We stayed for 3 nights in November. Everyone was great. My husband is in a wheelchair and uses oxygen. The staff was wonderful seeing that everything was set up well. We had a bay view room over the beach and watched sea lions etc. By the way If our room were over the street, we would have expected to see and hear a lot of celebrations. The bars close at 2:00pm so what is the big deal. The breakfast was great. Our choice of many items. Lots of coffee. We had a great time and will return when we get a chance.

Right in the heart of the tourist section this hotel is very romantic. The rooms are small and if you have a street-side room it can be loud. Hardwood floors, fireplace, cozy. The price is high, but if it's your first trip to Monterey it's lovely.

What a wonderful find this place was. Right on the water, beautiful rooms, quite, with roll out windows, cheese and wine in the afternoons, free breakfast in bed, hardwood floors, marble bathrooms, attentive staff, clean and good value for $189.00 per night.
Beds were small and not that comfortable..... alot of freebies ask to see what is covered in the price of your room.

Very highly recommended!: A very comfortable hotel, situated on Cannery Row, which offers a continental breakfast every morning delivered directly to the room, along with the morning newspaper. Also has afternoon tea and wine in the lobby area by a very large and cozy fireplace. We enjoy the rooms overlooking the Row more than the bay view rooms because of the always changing scenery.
This hotel is close to the Aquarium and many excellent restaurants. A very nice place to stay!
