I was really ready to buy a pair of running shoes today. My sales person was friendly enough,looked at my feet to see which type of shoe might be best. I got to try on two different brands, one was bulky and heavy the other light and comfy my lady kept taking off I really wanted to try on some more but didn't feel like just sitting there. When I got home I looked on-line for the comfy pair and they were $150, glad I didn't just grab them. O'well not meant to be....

I've only just taken up running the occasional 5 and 10K and wanted to get something other than cross-trainers to do so. I went to SR and, like another reviewer, learned a lot about running shoes. The staff was very accommodating and experienced--I had no idea I was running in shoes a full size too small--and the shoes I bought have been great.

My experience would tell me that the negative experience of the one commenter--while I am sure is exactly how she felt at the time--would be a one-off, bad day sort of thing.

I went here to get running shoes because I was told that they know how to give you the right shoes for your feet. When I left, I had learned so much about running shoes! They look at your feet to see if you are pronated, give you a couple pairs to try on, then tell you to go run around the block and see how they feel! They do this until you get the shoe that is right for you. They answered all of my questions, and I left with a great pair of shoes. They even lace locked my laces for me.
I also found a 30% off coupon on their website, which made the experience even nicer.
They have a limited amount of running accessories like belts, gels, and clothes as well, but don't deal with any sport besides running- which is a pity. If they carried shoes and accessories for other sports, I'd go there first!
All in all this is a great place to go if you want expert help getting a great pair of running shoes.

My experience here felt SO uncomfortable. I stopped by on my way home from work to buy tickets to a 2 mile run coming up. There was a man lingering outside, who when I walked up asked, "How can I help YOU?" Rudely, as in he didn't want me there. I told him I just wanted to buy tickets to the event. He acted like I was a big nuisance. I tried to pay for with a credit card, and he said..."we aren't set up to do that--you have to pay with cash or a check." There was a credit card machine...I saw it. Maybe he just meant for the event. So after I paid with cash, no receipt was given--he threw it in the trash!!!!! And I asked for the confirmation that I signed up because all he gave was the number to pin on for the event. He snapped back, "that's all they provide us with." I was ready to get the heck out of there, and I have no intention of ever going back there. I'm all about supporting my local economy--but not when they are jerks and act like that. And he had absolutely no reason do that--- I am in decent shape, a young female. I was so APPALLED by this. I felt uncomfortable afterwards.
