Great Comic Shop!
I love this place, great selection, great service and an awesome pull and hold service.
Only complaints: Hard to find the first time, gets hot as hell in the summer, not enough Manga and other foreign comics.
But on the whole: best comic shop in SD!

You can't go wrong!
This is THE place in San Diego for your weekly comic book fix. The staff is all-knowing, friendly, and ready to help you the minute you walk in. Their selection of new titles is extensive, as is their collection of back-issues. Jamie Newbold, the owner, specializes in Golden Age & Silver Age books, and his selection in these classic items is second-to-none. You'll find both slabbed (CGC) and unslabed books available. Kristen, his right-hand-woman, makes everyone feel special. The store is well lit and inviting, always clean, and very open (not like some stores in town). You can't go wrong shopping at SoCal!

the store is so big they took me in a tour the first time i was there. large store very well stocked in all genres. lite on anime. there is a whole room devoted to comic books for $1 each. i found books that were $5 and $10 books and they even discount them buy 10 get two free. everything was well organized. the staff was friendly and helpful

There inventory was bigger than I had anticipated. I spent a good forty-five minutes shuffling through their dollar bins looking for Batman comics. I found 7 out of 12 issues in one particular Batman series and I was thrilled! Plus there was one particular staff member who was very nice and showed me another stock room that I didn't see when I first arrived and it contains the store's collection of graphic novels plus a bunch of back issues. I am planning on visiting the store again soon when I get a few extra dollars to spend on some more issues.
