Years ago, a vet from South Shores Pet Clinic, left the practice and opened up All Pets, another local vet. There was bad blood between the two practices. I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Steed, who happened to help my dog with an emergency surgery...after two weeks my dog was really down...I took him to see Dr. Steed, who gave him an injection and sent him on his way home. As I was loading my 95 lb dog into the car, I decided to get a second opinion because of a motherly instinct I had. I took the dog up to All Pets for this purpose. They immediately admitted him, gave him intraveinous antibiotics and requested blood work. I told them that I just left South Shores and that they took blood work and told them they could call and get the bloodwork sent over. When All Pets called South Shores for the bloodwork results, South Shores became angered that I took my dog to the All Pets clinic. I thought this was really odd. I was not angry with the services received by Dr. Steed, but rather was seeking a second opinion. Several days later, I still could not get the results from South Shores, and my dog was till down. South Shores called me leaving a message that my bloodwork was in. When I called back, they said they made a mistake and it was another person with my same last name...hmmm. A few conversations later, I found out that they were telling All Pets that I didn't pay my bill. My arrangement with South Shores was that I paid $700 when the accident occurred and that I would pay $500 on Friday of the next week when I got paid. Instead of asking for the money when South Shores became angered with the fact that I went for a second opinion, they didn't say anything to me, only the new pet clinic.
