Amazing
This salon is great! I thought my previous waxer was fast but this place is even faster and it's less painful. I'm so happy to find somewhere that has nice people and a smart owner. My previous place was owned by a complete idiot and she was so rude. This place was a breath of fresh air

unprofessional... by kelly m. at InsiderPages
I've had my bikini area waxed dozens of times at 8 or 10 different salons ranging from the cheap places to the 4 star ones and i have NEVER seen such unprofessional treatment.
My first time going to Wax Poetic, I requested to be booked with their most experienced esthetician. I was told my appt would be with Eliza, who had 4 months experience. Again, I requested a more seasoned waxer and was told Michelle had an opening. I scheduled an appt. with her. Upon arrival I was introduced to Michelle and led to the skincare room. She asked me to undress from the waist down and I waited for her to leave the room to allow me to do so. She did not. She just stood there with this look on her face that read Come on! Hurry up! I quickly undressed and hopped up onto the table. I wasnt offered any sort of drape, towel, sheet or anything, but rather forced to lay there half naked while she prepped her wax.. The wax itself was semi-painful, done in large sections and very unrefined. I found several strays and the triangle shape I expected to see when finished was too big, uneven and untrimmed. The process took barely ten minutes and cost about $60. As I was paying for the service I was handed a business card with the name Elizabeth which Im assuming was Eliza's card. Who actually performed the waxing service I requested? I'm not sure, was it Michelle or Eliza...or Elizabeth?!? Regardless it was a huge disappointment. Had I not been so distracted by the busy schedule of my day I would have gotten some answers from the manager the day I was in.
Needless to say, I will not return to Wax Poetic. Very shady place, unprofessional, shotty service, rushed appointments, and overall inconsistency...
LA is so full of salons, Im not sure how a place that operates like this keeps its clients.

worst color in my life by Claire M. at InsiderPages
I went here based on reviews I'd read online. What a mistake - the colorist claimed to be trained at Licardi but she turned my hair into a blotchy muddy mess. I went back the next day and she tried to fix it and just made it worse! It was hats until my hair recovered enough for me to get it fixed by a real professional. I'm giving them two stars because the space is really nice, the staff was friendly when I was making the appointments, and parking was easy. Maybe for other services but NOT hair color!!

Over Priced
I went to Wax Poetic on a recommendation. HUGE mistake. All I needed was a simple trim. The stylist did a wonderful job listening to what I wanted and did a wonderful job cutting it. However, I was charged $60 for a less than ten minute hair cut! The stylist didn't cut any type of style, just trimmed my hair!

To add to that, the front desk receptionists were not particularly customer service orientated and the place seemed dirty. The ambiance is not that impressive.

I have experience working in a salon and I know that rates can be adjusted to the level of difficulty of the cut. I felt used, and taken advantage of. My hair cut was not worth $60. Who wants to go to a salon where they try to jip you off? For the sole reason, I will not recommend any one to go to Wax Poetic.

the worst waxing experience of my life
I went to this waxing place without a personal recommendation from someone I knew, I guess that was my first mistake in seeking a decent Brazilian .

I waited over an hour for my appointment and I was the only person in there. The staff at the front desk, one of them I believe was the owner, was so inattentive and rude. I'm not the kind of person that needs to be dotted on either, but they completely ignored me!

The actual wax.. holy hell, what a nightmare. The woman was doing my Brazilian and my half leg at the same time, and was so aggressive. It was extremely painful, I couldn't catch my breath, my eyes were watering like crazy, and I started to feel really nauseous. I'm no amateur, and was shocked at how painful this was. The wax was boiling and I kept flinching every time she put it on my legs because it was burning my skin. I asked her to let the wax cool a little bit because it hurt, and her response was " Yeah well wax is hot" then again I asked her and she said "You're almost done" Are you kidding me? My skin was irritated for 3 days, and the whole point in getting the leg wax was because I was going to an event that I was wearing a dress for, that I couldn't wear because I looked like a leper. Not to mention my Brazilian was patchy. My friend came along with me and had a different person do her Brazilian and also had a bad experience.

the worst place ever. I would never recommend it to anyone.
