No Shade‎
I cannot even put into words how incredibly wonderful my experience at Smart Bike Parts was today. Having only been in Chicago for a year and a half, I've already quickly acclimated to the road-serious mentality here, yet the typical bike shop snobbery was spared at SBP. The staff was not only incredibly friendly, they went out of their way to make sure I left the store with everything I needed. On top of all of that, their prices can't be beat. No matter the part of town I'm in, Smart Bike Parts will now and forever be "my bike shop."‎

Bad‎
I went there a year ago. For the past year I have been meaning to write a bad review but I keep putting it off. Yesterday I went to Oscar Wastyn Cycles‎ which is also in the neighborhood on fullerton. I had such a great experience at Oscar's that I need to let people know that Smart Bike Parts was not a good experience. The work was sub par - for starters they put my breaks on uneven. My real issue was with the staff, they were terse and rude. If they act like they do not want my business, I will not give it to them.‎

"Bike shop wanna be”??‎
I have walked in about 3 times and every time I walk in, I swear they think I'm gonna steal something. First of all, this place is so small that put 4 bikes in this place and the place looks full. I read all these great reviews about this place so I thought I would go and check them out. I have come to learn that this is an internet shop. They don't really stock anything, but you can order stuff, threw catalogs. The same price of the items listed on the their website, in the store (bar tape, tubes, patch kits, ect.) It's the same people in there hanging out, cause they give you free beer, so it looks like so many people are being attended too. Can't these guys just by a six pack or go to a bar to drink, instead of hanging out at 10 x 14 storage spot. I guess if you want to wait to get a bike part its ok, but if you need something right away go to a real bike shop like Rapid Trans or Smithey's. Oh, yeah and when it comes to doing repairs this place is cramped. Make ...

Proud to call it "My bike shop"‎
There are very few stores (bikes, or otherwise for that matter) who are seriously interested in getting you on the road comfortably, affordably and safely without upselling you extra stuff. The owner has a LOVE OF RIDING and the top priority of this store is to get you out on your bike, whatever the make, model, or year. There is enthusiasm and support for the biking community and you can trust that the work done and the parts offered are not going to be overpriced. They're quick and even though some of them are a little quiet, everyone is friendly.‎

Smart Bike Parts - Excellent bike shop...‎
I just got home from buying a new tube and tire for my vintage cruiser and the folks at Smart Bike Parts were so helpful. I was shown a variety of new tires and given great explanations of the differences. Not only were they knowledgeable but their prices are so much better than the shop in Bucktown I had previously shopped and I wasn't given attitude for not owning a fancy street bike.‎
