I have received many haircuts from salons and this salon was very frustrating to me.
*The owner had poor listening skills. I requested a certain treatment and in the books she added another treatment to mine then expected me to pay for that extra service. She continuously stated that I requested the second treatment when I NEVER request that specific treatment.
**The hairstylist did not perform the haircut as I had requested and instead cut my hair in a way that she thought would look best. After the haircut, I specified how I wanted the hair cut to be altered and she would not do it. I feel that as customer, I can take the hair stylist's suggestion or she should do as I request and I would suffer the outcome. After 2 requests, she refused to cut my hair as I requested and sent me away with her card stating that if I still don't like it later to come back..
Overall, I was very frustrated with the situation and felt like the bottom line was more important that customer service.

Tina is their new (as of spring 2006) esthetician. She really makes you feel comfortable and works with you to improve your skin over time. Tina does an excellent job with waxing and facials and also does microdermabrasion. PLUS her prices are competitive with other places in the area.

People are very nice and friendly at this salon. Some of the regulars have left however, so you have to get used to new styists. I have never had a bad haricut from this salon. They also sell neat clothing and accessories; good prices when they are on sale.

PROS: convenient if you live in Almaden
CONS: Sometimes hard to get an appointment

Both my husband and I have been going to Anna for a few years. She is absolutely meticulous when cutting hair. In my opinion because her haircuts are so good, it allows me to go a little longer beteween cuts because the shape keeps well. Although I haven't used her for coloring, I do hear that is her specialty.

PROS: great haircuts and styling
CONS:

Cathy at Cafe Hair does a great job and is conveniently located right here in Almaden. Her prices are fair for this area and she is very friendly. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because she frequently runs behind on her appointments, but this has not stopped us from using her for several years.

PROS: Good Cuts, Good Price
CONS: Runs Late on appointments sometimes
