Door Matching: An Innovation
I had a rotted out door that needed to be replaced. I wanted to keep these glass vents in the door, since they don’t make this particular door anywhere. I went to Home Depot, but no help there. I shopped around, and was basically told I’d have to buy a new door or spend a fortune on a custom made door. I thought how hard could it be to cut a rectangle out of a door to put the original glass vents in? I was getting quotes of about $500 to custom make what is basically a cheap door with vents put in (which would be provided), and I’d have to hire an install guy which is another $100 give or take. This was absolutely ridiculous. I was set on letting the door just sit there and slowly ruin, and it did for a good year until I had a party. One of my guests told me to call Sierra Padre Mill, which was just literally right down the street (5 blocks from me), so I made a call. They told me to just bring in the door, they’d do something called ‘door matching’ which lines up the hinges, so I wouldn’t need a contractor to reinstall the door. Plus, they’d custom make the door so I could keep the glass vents. Simple, easy, smart, right? And, the best part, inexpensive! Wouldn’t you believe it, this place was just down the street from me. They had all the answers like it was no big deal I wanted to keep the vents, and I didn’t have to spend any extra money on install. These guys have all the answers. I really wasted my time at all those other door companies. Sierra Padre is all about simple, effective solutions. Made my life easy, and I’m extremely happy with my new door. Keep it up guys.

Sierra Padre Mill Company Saved My Doors From Termites!
We’re Leucadia locals, born and bred! If you live in an older home in Encinitas or Leucadia, you’re well aware of the never ending termite damage. We had these beautiful rustic doors we thought we needed to throw out and replace due to termite damage. One of our friends suggested Sierra Padre Mill and to ask if they had any suggestions to salvage the doors. So, we called and yay!!!! They repaired the termite damage, and we got to keep our beautiful doors! I might sound a little too excited, but these doors are irreplaceable to me – I’m pretty artsy, and I couldn’t bear the thought of throwing these precious doors out – they really complement our funky little home. The sales people are so nice, and their carpenters are geniuses! They fixed our doors for less than the cost of the replacement doors and installation we were looking at. We’d definitely go back!

EXCEPTIONAL QUALITY and SERVICE!
We know it’s a bit unorthodox for us to write a review about ourselves, but the purpose of this is to provide our side of the story regarding the negative review left by pointloma45. This customer ordered sandblasted cedar doors from us, and when we delivered the doors, the customer was very pleased and happy. A week later, the customer called and said the sandblasted cedar was not even. We happily sent our best shop man to the job site to fix it at no cost even though this was an extra service. The customer thanked us and told us he was happy with the job. However, a month later, the customer called us back again to complain that he was still not satisfied. We sent our best man back out there again at no charge, but told our customer to make sure the job was complete to his satisfaction before sending our man back. The customer did so and later called us to express what a marvelous job we did and thanked us again. If you can believe it, the customer called back a month later stating he wanted us to send our man out a third time. Believing we were being a bit taken advantage of by someone who could never be satisfied, we declined to send our man out, especially since we had already lost hours of shop time and money. As a result, he wrote a negative review about us and later sent an extremely long letter to us threatening legal action. In our 34 years of history, we have never been sued by any of our customers, we guarantee our products, our excellent service, and although we believe the customer is always right – we concluded that this customer was too much, unreasonable, and unjustified. However, we sent our man out one last time, again at no charge, and to this day; we haven’t heard a single peep from this man. We hope you disregard his negative review, and stop on by if you have any door or window related needs or questions!

BEST DOOR AND WINDOW COMPANY IN CALIFORNIA
I've been a contractor for 29 years, and I've dealt with my fair share of door and window companies. I have been a loyal customer of Sierra Padre Mill for the last 18 years and for good reason. This company is honest, knowledgeable, and always delivers top notch products when I need it. My only regret is not knowing about this company my first 11 years as a contractor. I've come to them with big and small jobs, and they've always been able to accommodate my needs, no matter how trivial or monumental. My opinion, you're wasting your time at any other company - Sierra Padre is my one stop shop!

Do not use this company
Horrible experience. Charlie, the owner, at first seemed nice but turned out to be impossible to deal with when they delivered the wrong product. We tried to get him to fix it for three months. After much pushing, he made some effort and then just stopped with about 50% of the door re-done. We are suing to get the cost of repairs covered.

Do not use this company!
