Service Department Not Careful by Eddie C. at InsiderPages
A coworker and I have been using the Shockley service department for some time without too much trouble. However, several recent events has me looking elsewhere. First, I took my Honda CRV in for an oil change. But when my wife and I came to pick it up, it looked like the whole front hood was speckled. I think someone splattered solvent up on to the hood and it damaged the paint job. Unfortunately, neither my wife or I could be sure the damage wasn't there when we dropped it off. I don't think it is likely because we both noticed it right away. Second, my coworker took his honda in for service, only to have them come out and let him know they had dropped it onto its side off of the lift!!!! Have you ever heard of such a thing? Outrageous! They did plan to have the bodywork done at their expense, but my coworker indicated that they were not being as accommodating as one might expect considering they had just damaged the crap out of his car.

I went in there to purchase a car and spoke to a salesman name Chris ( very tall & big built) , it was like pulling teeth to get information from him, he acted like I was bothering him , it was so bad, that at times he would just stare at me and say absolutely nothing , he looked pisst off, I tried to be very friendly to him and he just had a angry look, it was such uncomfortable experience , I ended up going across the street and buying a Toyota, if I ever buy a Honda it will never be there

I'm shocked to read the positive reviews of Schockley Honda, and I question whether they were written by actual customers. We had a good enough experience purchasing our 2004 Honda Element from Schockley, but have had nothing but problems with the service department. Shortly after purchasing our car, the windshield cracked. We took the car in, and a service department worker agreed that there was no knick in the glass, that it had not been caused by a rock or object hitting the glass, that it was instead caused by a defect. While this worker was writing up a ticket to have the repair work done under the warranty service, another worker snatched the ticket out of his hands and said, Sorry, this isn't covered by warranty. After a GREAT deal of arguing, Honda agreed to provide a new windshield, but we were charged for labor. We tried to talk to a supervisor about this, but after standing outside his office for 15 minutes listening to him talk on the phone, we realized that he was not going to make time for us, and we gave up.

Every time we have tried to schedule an oil change for our car, we are given a 2-3 day wait period. I told the service dept person that this was very inconvenient, that the Toyota dealer (Darcars, which has a wonderful service department) always gets us in the same day for our Toyota, the Honda person hung up on me.

We will start taking our car to another Honda dealer, because Schockley is horrible.

I have been taking my Honda here for about 4 years for service. I never feel like I am being taken advantage of. They have a nice waiting area. I do not feel that I am being overcharged for unneeded service. The service has always been quick and courteous.

I bought my used Honda CRV from Shockley and have never been disappointed. I get all my sevice done from there and it is always very painless. If I have an appointment, I drop my car off in the morning, and take there free shuttle bus over to my work. Making appointments is very easy and can be done online. Also, on there website, they have coupons for there services. The sales people are wonderful and not pushy. I even received a birthday card from my salesman this year, and I bought my car there 2 years ago. I was surprised to receive it!
