My mom is an interior decorator and has a great eye for potential. She saw just that in Shenandoah Mill. When we found out that we could use our own vendors, it seemed like the place was perfect. The price seemed really high for what was provided but we were assured it was worth it by Patrick. I was too excited during the first meeting (which took place during an open house event) to notice the lack of professionalism exhibited by those whom we met with but it soon became apparent throughout our later dealings.

When we asked about how much time we would have for setting up, the answer was foggy. Then Patrick said that we would have to pay $400 per hour extra for decorating. With an already high price for just a venue this was outrageous. With a lot of persuasion, we convinced him to let us decorate outside as long as we wanted but we would only have an hour inside previous to the wedding. Needless to say, my mom gathered as many friends and family to help decorate with such a short amount of time to do it in. There were many complaints to my mom from the owners on the day of the wedding during set up that there were too many people helping decorate and that people were going to ruin the shrubs. This was not even a possibility because my mom stressed being respectful during the setup to those helping out.

Any questions I had were usually left unclear or even just unanswered. These questions were ones that should have been readily answered by this business such as, How much would it be if I rented chair covers for the outdoor chairs? Instead of a price, I got the response, I would have to call around & see. It almost seemed like he expected me to order them without even knowing the price & just paying whatever for it later. Anyone who is or has planned a wedding knows that the budget comes first!

My wedding turned out beautiful thanks to all my loving friends and family but I do not have Shenandoah Mill to thank for it.

Where do I start?! The people who run this place are incredibly rude, condescending, unprofessional, and incompetent. I chose this place for it's looks and charm, which it has, but the way you are treated diminishes its beauty.

The staff, mainly Patrick, was nice in the beginning when he was trying to get us to purchase the building for my wedding reception. Once they received our entire payment, my family and I were treated like scum. They were extremely unhelpful and rude. Any question that my family or I had was answered with annoyance.

They made my reception a living Hell for my family and me:
1- They were 1 tablecloth short and were annoyed when I asked for them to get the missing one
2- While my family and I set up the morning of the event Patrick was nothing but rude to us all
3- The owner arrived in the morning and didn't say a word to any of us and walked around with a pissed off look on his face
4- All of the glasses had water spots all over them, even after they were polished
5- They can't set a table correctly to save their lives (my husband had to go through every single setting himself and fix them right before the reception started!!)
6- They treated my mother-in-law, who has 15 yrs of banqueting experience, like she was an idiot when she was trying to set up the buffet line
7- The owners little kid raced throughout the building on his scooter nearly knocking things over
8- When we left in the morning we said thank you and Patrick simply sneered at us
9- The owners claimed to be flexible with the time because they were re-seading the grass, but would not even let us in an hour early to finish setting up
10- We paid 3 waitstaff members thru Shenandoah Mill to help with the buffet line, clear food, and refill wine glasses and not one person did their job correctly.
11- The waitstaff was lazy and incompetent and did not smile once
