I've been going to Shen Nong as long as I can remember since we moved to the neighborhood about 20 year ago. Bruno and his staff are very nice and knowledgeable. They seem to have everything there is to stock and the prices are right. You have to go behind the stores on the street into the courtyard to find this gem.‎

This place is run by Bruno. Bruno won't write a prescription for you, he has the knowledge but doesn't want to compete with the many local herbalists and Accupuncturists who send their patients to him to get prescriptions filled. He is nice, has everything in stock at good prices, and is very easy to get to if you live in Berkeley.‎
