These guys are awesome... they can build a car from scratch (literally). More than one occasion, they fix my car's broken parts just by some drilling and welding. They save me so much money that way. Sounds weird right? Here's one example: one time i ran into a deer and my right headlight fell off because of a broken bracket. Great.. I thought there gone $150 plus labor. But these guys... they just drill some new holes and bend some thin metal bar to make a new bracket that hold my headlight really well. It take them about half an hour and they charge me $40. I was so damn happy. I mean they can just buy the new bracket and charge me the part $150 plus $200 labor for removing the front bumper to install it. These guys are so down to earth, almost like your neighbor. One time I could not start the car, I had to tow it there. 10 min later, Tom (he's the boss there i think) called me and said "you can pick it up, just the starter cable loose". I asked him how much for the repair, he just "nah dont worry about it, i only give the nut a few turn". So I end up buying them a six pack of Heineken. No diagnostic charge, no new starter needed.. I just truly appreciate their honesty. Give them a try, you will be very surprised that this kinda customer service still exist.

I've used Woodside Shell (Tom) as my mechanic for 5 years now and it feels great to know that there are good people out there. He is always honest and does everything possible to help his customers, he will go out of his way for you at any time of the day, thats the type of person he is. I appreciate that greatly and I strongly recommend him. Don't tell him I told you but there were many times when he gave me free oil changes =P

As someone who puts a lot of miles on his car (around 6K) a month, my car is always in the shop. I can't afford to take my car to the dealer for everything and I needed someone who would finish the work when they said they would so that I could get back on the road.
Tom and woodside shell is great. I have taken my car in over 15 times and never once had a problem. He has never suggested that I do something to my car that wasn't needed and has saved me money on multiple occasions by being honest and telling me if I did not need something. (For example brake pads).
Here is something new I just moved to Santa Clara and I called him up when I needed a service. He explained to me that Redwood City was a far place to drive and while he appreciated the business he thinks it would be in my best interest to find a shop that is closer to my house. What kind of Mechanic is that honest? I seriously recommend trying them out. Start with an oil change like I did and trust me you'll be blown away with the service. This is coming from a guy who honestly knows nothing about cars, but has tried many mechanic shops.
