When i was 17(2 yrs ago), my parents had me admitted to an adolescent day program here, meaning I was fortunate enough to never experience the dreaded "upstairs" I constantly heard about. One problem with this place is that it's a money making scam. Once you're entered into the system, they decide when you're ready to leave. I was obviously admitted against my will, being 17, therefore I didnt believe I had a problem and was not willing to negotiate. That is also because I didn't have a problem. I smoked trees and tried x once. Sooo they just keep you there, charging per day, until you give up. Another problem: it's full of out-of-ouch, robotic, stone-cold social workers who won't even tell you about their past experiences with mental illness or drug use, making it virtually impossible to connect.
