This gem of a restaurant may very well be the best thing in St. Louis, period. The owner started up the business with something like $3000 and is correctly credited with having started the whole Cherokee area neighborhood revitalization. You probably won't even notice that the place is semi vegetarian -- I didn't, and I'm not a vegetarian. The various egg, salmon and veggie-alternative meatless dishes are fully satisfying. The food selection is eclectic and ranges from super healthy to ridiculously decadent. Most or all of the dishes are just the owner's home-cooking specialties. Nothing is mass - produced and everything tastes like it just came out of Mom's kitchen (assuming your mom knows how to cook). The ambiance somehow manages to make one feel simultaneously festive, romantic, and relaxed. It is really something special.
