Great Selection of Group Therapy Workshops!
With the state of managed care, many medical providers are not offering long-term counseling anymore. They require fewer visits, and sometimes the best way to approach this is through meeting with a group, which can be half the cost of individual therapy. Sequoia Counseling Services has a great host of therapy groups run by qualified facilitators, held once a week in the evenings. These groups are small, with no more than a dozen participants, and deal with common issues like trauma and sexual abuse, Adult Children of Alcoholics, relationships, self-esteem, and more. They accept most forms of insurance, and others may qualify for a sliding scale rate. When I called on the telephone and had several questions, I was connected with a licensed therapist who screened me, not a receptionist. She was kind and encouraging It felt like a caring place who solved problems for you rather than sucked at your hard earned money with no healing goal.

PROS: less expensive, find you are not the only one dealing with your issues
CONS: Groups are not for everyone, and 12 week commitments are required
