Asking around town about a reliable jeweler, I was unanimously referred to Seelenbacher's. Like a lot of older businesses in Alameda, Seelenbacher's has that personal, friendly, business on a handshake feel to it. I've had several rings resized and other repair work done, as well as buying a couple of new items in the store. His work is always excellent, the prices are reasonable and his long term ties to the community are reassuring. In a world of computer generated customer service and 15 digit account numbers its nice to be on a first named basis with your jeweler. The quality of the work at Seelenbacher's is big city, but the service is definitely downtown Mayberry.

The current owner is a member of the original family and really knows his business and gem values. He does repairs and new jewelry too. Did a wonderful job appraising over $90,000 of jewelry for me.
Chris is the grandson of the original jeweler and he does it all himself so you can be assured that he cares about you and getting you what you want.
