Good South Bay Asian Supermarket
I think this is one of the best Asian Supermarkets in the South Bay. It has a variety of products and whenever my recipe calls for Asian ingredients, I know where to turn. Their bakery is also popular, they sell fresh bread for cheap. And where else can you choose your own fish in the seafood section and they fry it for you on the spot? Yummy. I've seen some weird stuff in here too like quail eggs, frozen animal blood, and other interesting items. I like to buy ingredients for miso soup and salmon is cheap here at $5-$6 a pound. Plus they will clean and cut it for you however you want.

Pilipino Palengke
you have to watch when they put any meat, poultry or seafood product on sale, I have had this experience more than once, bought a bag of chicken thighs, when I got home and opened the bag it smelled like a dead rat. I contacted seafood and it was so easy for them to say "just return it and we will reimburse you the money". I went back to seafood market and requested to meet with the store manager and he said "oh, because we've been having problem with the freezer". does anyone do a quality check in the store. pack of beef shank on sale, open the package and lift the meat and you'll find freaking big bone in the middle. unprofessional rude employees especially at the fish section. too much to write about this store but don't have enough time. hire a mystery shopper or have your higher staff do it and let them experienced themselves.‎

stinky seafood
I dont find the fish very fresh...remember fresh fish smells like the ocean not some dead rotting animal. Push on the flesh-it should bounces back. Look at the gills -they should be bright red, as the fish decomposes the gills get darker ...

They have fresh seafood
It's a seafood place so you expect to walk into a room of bad fishy odor. However, that doesn't bother me because I love seafood. The store is really small but they usually have lots on stock so you can find what you need. ...
