Great Sea Food and More !!

A relatively new restaurant in North Park, it was opened by two people truly committed to sustainability and amazing food. This is a great place for vegetarians and vegans since they offer many options with the their appetizers, entrees and desserts.

Their wine and beer selection is very extensive and in their menu they add suggestions for wine and food pairings. I had their soup of the day which was vegetarian with red beans, greens, barley and other ingredients, very hearty and great to start.

For the entree I had another one of their specials, chicken tacos in soft corn tortillas with toppings and an amazing avocado sauce. They also brought three different hot sauces made in-house, didn't try them, I'm a wimp. This time I didn't try their seafood or desserts, but I'm sure they're great as well.

The decor is in soft yellow tones with lots of candles and a great view of a busy intersection. The music was very discreet so you can easily have a nice conversation. There is very little street parking, but you can park on a small lot behind the restaurants, go in through the alley, not in the Jack in the Box parking.

I went to dinner here the other night and it was very good. They had a nice variety of traditional and creative plates, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The ceviche appetizer was a highlight, and the tuna melt I had afterward was also a great choice. Be aware that they don't serve alcohol, only beer and wine. Although, the beer selection is pretty good. They also have great happy hours if you can find the time to get out to Northpark before work...

This was my first time at Sea Rocket and I really enjoyed the ambiance and food. What brought my friend and I in was a free entree coupon I found in a local magazine. Since the restaurant is not on the main strip of businesses, I wonder how many people know about it since it wasn't very busy when I was there.

I ordered the pan-seared yellowtail, which came with veggies and amazing mashed winter squash that melts in your mouth. The menu includes recommended wines for their different entrees which was very helpful. My friend ordered the shellfish pasta. I am not a huge pasta fan, but this was a great dish. It came with a decent amount of clams and mussels. The menu said there were veggies also, but I don't recall seeing too many.
