I've had generally good service and been very pleased with Scottrade over several years, but I will never again do business with the Oakland Branch. The first few mistakes that the Oakland branch made I chalked up to chance and my bad luck. But after several mistakes, flat out wrong instructions and advice (some of which caused me to miss a financial transaction that would have avoided taxation on $14000 in a IRA to Roth Conversion), and their seeming inability to get their instructions straight, I will no longer use the Oakland branch. They kept changing what paperwork they needed from me for the same requested transaction. I attribute their problems to a lack of training for staff, and inattention on the part of individual staff members. I transferred to the Stockton, CA branch of Scottrade, and have been very pleased with this branch's staff and services.‎
