This is my personal, recent experience with Santa Monica Video.
I feel this place is totally dishonest about their pricing, and have tons of hidden charges that were conveniently excluded from their initial Invoice. Depending on which sales person you get stuck with the charge per unit can vary as much as $2 !!!
They will never call you about an order, you must always follow-up with them. Sometimes weeks would go by without any communication, and then I'd call to get a status and they'd say, Oh yeah, check-disc has been ready, sitting here for a week.
If you don't believe me, just look them on the Better Business Bureau's website, they have a D rating. What does that mean? Practice caution when dealing with this business. So, please do!

I've just started using SMV and went in today for the first time (everything has been done with runners to and from before). They have handled everything beautifully with my film to drive transfers and in going in today, everyone was super nice and very accomodating to me. I'm looking forward to my session there next week!
