Local History is alive!! by A D. at InsiderPages
Located in a historic register building (an old court house) in downtown Redwood City, the San Mateo County History Museum is a very interesting place. It contains a volunteer run bookstore (mainly items that have been donated), and features a large space for exhibits and special events. Regular tours are given by trained (volunteer) docents. For some events museum volunteers put on re-enactments and bring history to life! It has a great collection of period clothing, so it's a wonderful place to visit if you are a fashion buff.
