This review is for Wednesday Salsa Nights at the bar. I have been to Salsa night here 2-3 times. The lessons are relatively short and teach you 1-2 eight counts but I suppose that is pretty standard for free lessons. What is odd is that there are two pillars in the middle of the dance floor which makes it very awkward and difficult to see the instructors as they are demonstrating the dance moves.After the lessons there is social dancing. The crowd is really old around 30-50 years old but you can catch the occasional students from UC San Diego, most likely from the latin dance class offered through the dance department. You can find a handful of experienced dancers during social dancing but most of them will be amateurs. There is a bar, DJ, and a pool table.

I stay at a lot of Hotels mainly for Business but I had a free weekend coming up and my kid's and I needed a rest so La Jolla seemed like the perfect place to go. I wanted to stay someplace that would take care of all our needs, a Hotel where I wouldn't have to lift a finger for the whole weekend, all I need worry about is doing the fun stuff. (Taking the kid's to the beach or out to eat etc).

Well Folk's The Marriott met all my expectations and more, from Reservations to House Keeping I was treated like royalty and my Children treated like gold! Every night when we were finished with the day we would go back to the room and find that our beds turned down and the pillows always had a little piece of chocolate wrapped in gold paper gently left on each pillow! It was like something you see in a movie and I didn't have to pay $200.00 a night to get "fit for a queen" service.

My Husband and I have an anniversary coming up and there is no other place that I'd rather celebrate it than La Jolla it is a such a romantic place, with so many things to do or if you just want to relax and bask in the sun or swim in the pool it's all up to you. In La Jolla everything is about "chilling out" and the Marriott La Jolla was a fantastic addition to making all that "chilling" possible!

Next time around no kid's are coming back with me just my Husband so I'm saving my pennies for our 22 anniversary stay at what is now my very favorite Hotel The Marriott La Jolla. (dang those chocolates were good)! The Price, Ambiance, Food and Friendly Staff make it the best, in my opinion, Hotel in La Jolla, there is none better!
