Most thorough cleaning and efficient/painless/durable cavity
Most thorough cleaning and efficient/painless/durable cavity filling that I've known in my adult days. Dr. Costello caught a really bad cavity (on its way to root canal status) that my previous dentist missed and filled it with remarkably little pain. I'm used to feeling pain after a cavity filling, but this stopped once I switched to Dr. Costello. She's got a magic touch. I also liked that I could ask her questions during my exam and cavity procedure and she answered without annoyance or condescension. As for the rest of the office, I've been equally impressed with the friendliness of the staff and the general professionalism of the entire office.

I've been a patient at Royal Oak Family Dentistry for 20 years
I've been a patient at Royal Oak Family Dentistry for 20 years now and all of my experiences there have been positive. The hygenists are thorough and caring, the staff is friendly and helpful, and most importantly the doctors do high quality work that looks good and endures. My doctor, Dr. Costello, is a perfectionist - what else could you ask for in someone working on the tiny teeth in your mouth? She gets the job done well and is committed to me as a patient. I would recommend this office to anyone who wants a dedicated doctor and a warm dental experience (how rare is that?!).

I was extremely dissatisfied with Dr. Costello's work and her
I was extremely dissatisfied with Dr. Costello's work and her staff. The staff was rude and even hung up on me twice when I inquired about further details about a bill. Her work was shoddy and after her working on some of my teeth, 2 of my teeth fell out shortly thereafter! Dr. Costello charged for a tooth filling that she did not fill. I had this verified by another dentist at a different office. Her billing is not concise and very mixed up. Review your bills carefully to make sure you're not being cheated. It took me a long time to decide whether I will be posting this review about Dr. Costello's and her work as I do not like to say negative things. She had me waiting for an hour and a half one time when I had an appointment. No apology was offered after. Another time I had an appointment, I came to her office and her staff denied I ever had an appointment! Very surreal experience. I finally decided that I must warn others who may be contemplating on going to her. Dr. Costello over-charged and had higher prices than other dentists. It appears that she is more concerned about money than about being a caring dentist. Beware - enter her office at your own risk. I very highly DO NOT RECOMMEND this dentist!

My wife and I and several of our friends all use this dentist. They seem to do a great job and are very friendly. Just had two fillings two days ago, and had no pain during or after the procedure.

I was very dissatisfied with my service at Royal Oak Family
I was very dissatisfied with my service at Royal Oak Family Dentistry. After the most violent tooth cleaning I have ever had, I left the dentist’s office bleeding. I returned for some filling work, and the dentist did not wait long enough for the anesthesia to kick in, resulting in a rather painful start to the procedure. After just a minute or so more, the anesthesia kicked in and the rest of the procedure was relatively painless. The doctor left the procedure room to see other patients twice while he was working on me – I have never had that happen before.

When this miserable trip was done, I paid my co-pay and left. But the experience was not over. They charged me an additional $100 OVER AND ABOVE the rate negotiated through insurance. When I called to question it, I was told I’d get a call back. Of course, I never did and the bill went to collections. I paid the bill to get the collectors off by back, but I can assure you, I will NEVER go back to this dentist.
