Horrible Service, Go elsewhere
In the past I went to the dentist to get a yearly cleaning. Paid a small co-payment or nothing at all. You sit down, they clean your teeth and polish. You leave.

At Castle Dental the basic cleaning became an ordeal. They wanted to do it in steps...such as
Step 1 - Inspection
Step 2 - Cleaning
Step 3 - Polishing

Each step took a separate visit to the office and each step was charged individually! The billing department told me about a $20 co-payment due each year and then we moved on. After the basic cleaning I was hit with a bill for over $300 because they had to use "anesthetic" on a certain part of my mouth to clean debris. The problem is I was never informed of this. When examined by the dentist earlier he stated everything looked fine.

The lady doing my cleaning was in a rush, and stated so several times during the procedure to other personnel. This was the only time I've ever gone to the dentist and felt like I was a unit in an assembly line being pushed on to the next station.

Overall very bad experience.

My old dentist no longer accepts my insurance plan, and I had to switch. I chose Castle...wrong move. I called to schedule cleanings for my family of four, the first available appointment is over a month away, inconvenient; they are only open Mon-Thurs, inconvenient; they do not do an exam and cleaning at the same appointment, really inconvenient; they only see one family member per day; absurd. So, in order for my family of four to get dental cleanings, I would have to wait a month, and then have to schedule 8 separate appointments on 8 different days. That is absolute insanity. I called my benefits coordinator today to let them know, and I am now paying an extra $50 per month in dental premiums just so I can go back to my old dentist. This whole process was a joke and a colossal waste of my time. Castle Dental on 79 in Round Rock just plain sucks.

Not respectful of your time and not professional I went
Not respectful of your time and not professional

I went there initially on April 7, 2009, for a broken tooth. The dentist took X rays, then showed me where an infection could be taking place and set me up with an antibiotic, but did nothing else. Shje said before we fixed the tooth, I'd have to see an endodontist, to determine if the tooth was even worth saving. Fine. I went back for a followup with him on April 22: the doctor walked in, looked at my X ray and said "What the hell is wrong with your tooth?" He then proceeded to rattle off a list of things that we would have to do, and said I needed to see a periodontist. This endodontist didn't even open my mouth or examine me in any way! He acted like he didn't care.

I set up a followup with the periodontist (who, of course, is only in the office one day a month), but I may or may not be going to that followup. I'm checking with another dentist in town as well.

Severe Disappointment
I went 4 times to get a cleaning and then a crown. This started as a simple cavity, by the time they were done I had a root canal and crown. Since then I have had a chronic migraine and constant inflammation (6 - 8 months later). I was told the amount I would pay, signed paperwork and then my insurance company said I was vastly over charged and they would not pay. Castle Dental has done nothing to resolve the matter and insists i pay this extreme amount. I had excellent insurance and was still out $2,000, now they want $500 more! Do not go here, they have no idea what they are doing and charge far too much.
