Horrible Place. Don't Stay Here!!
Pioneer Lodge (or now known as Paradise Inn & Suites) requires you to check in before showing you a room. My first motel room smelled like smoke, was dusty, the shower stall had mold in it, the mattress caved in the middle, the door wouldn't lock and there were stains on the carpet. The second room had a layer of dust on the furniture, the bathroom was filthy, there was an un-emptied ashtray on the counter, and there was some kind of writing or graffiti on the counter. There were also stains on the walls and the carpet.
I gave manager, Kathy Jimenez, back the key and she said the credit card would be refunded the next day. They refunded everything BUT for the first night, which I was later told it was their policy to charge you for one day if you check in.
There were no written statements on the wall near the cash register, nor were there any statements of this policy on any of the paperwork or receipts she gave me. When I spoke with her on the phone on she said that the first-night charge was the company policy, but admitted it wasn't a written policy. Kathy has refused to give contact information for the owner or management company so that I can get the rest of my money refunded. Avoid at all costs. Very bad place.
