I had a terrible experience with another vet (see review for Riverside Animal Clinic), and came to Dr. Fried's Group to have my cat examined. She had been sick for 5 days, not eating or drinking. I was feeding her by hand, and at the previous vet visit she had had subcutaneous fluids, but she was becoming dehydrated again.
Dr. Fried was caring and knowledgeable. He gently examined her while I was in the room, and seemed unintimidated by the fact that she had bitten an assistant at the previous vet's practice. My cat made no attempts to bite or scratch Dr. Fried, probably because I was there to soothe her. He made an immediate preliminary diagnosis of a severe cold, and after xrays, his diagnosis of a cold with no bowel obstruction or pneumonia was confirmed. He was helpful and kind, and called me the next day to follow up on her condition. I asked the receptionist if they ever sedate animals to do an exam, and she said they do not. She also said that owners are allowed to be present at all times during examinations at their request, and no cats are ever labeled aggressive. Highly recommended!
