I've got nowhere else to go..
I've got nowhere else to go..: I have lived 150 yards from the Rio 7 for over 6 years. I have seen at least 80% of the movies released at this theater during this time and can say with authority, this place needs help. It is a running joke in my family to guess what will go wrong during the show. The reason I go and keep going is because it is the only movie house in Kingsville, and I'm too cheap to drive to Corpus. OK, here is how Rio 7 can improve (like they are interested in improving?!). The price is fair for a matinee at $3, regular price shows need improvement in service and staff. I'm sure the wages for staff are quite low but at least hire kids who are courteous and respectful to those who buy the tickets. Someone needs to monitor the movies. A truthful estimate of the percentage of movies I see that have had some sort of problem is 75%. The sound is garbled or too loud, the picture is not framed, the lights don't go out when the show starts, and my favorite, the show just stops for a while. These problems are rampant and don't get fixed until I go to the lobby and notify someone that the show is messed up. Movies are fun for kids but when the kids are running up and down the aisles and having a party in the front of the theater it is kind of distracts those of us who came to see the show. I have on several occasions had to notify staff to get some control over the wild kids and their theater hopping. OK, those are the needed improvements that would make my Rio 7 experience seem like a normal one. There are some good points, it is close to my house and I like the slushy slurpy drinks. So until there is a choice...they got me.
