Renovation required
Renovation required: This place is the worst theater i've ever been to. the service is so amateur and the seats are so uncomfortable, you might as well be sitting on wooden chairs. the angle of the seating are bad and people's fat heads are always in the way, which you can't get the undivided attention of the movie.

I've got nowhere else to go..
I've got nowhere else to go..: I have lived 150 yards from the Rio 7 for over 6 years. I have seen at least 80% of the movies released at this theater during this time and can say with authority, this place needs help. It is a running joke in my family to guess what will go wrong during the show. The reason I go and keep going is because it is the only movie house in Kingsville, and I'm too cheap to drive to Corpus. OK, here is how Rio 7 can improve (like they are interested in improving?!). The price is fair for a matinee at $3, regular price shows need improvement in service and staff. I'm sure the wages for staff are quite low but at least hire kids who are courteous and respectful to those who buy the tickets. Someone needs to monitor the movies. A truthful estimate of the percentage of movies I see that have had some sort of problem is 75%. The sound is garbled or too loud, the picture is not framed, the lights don't go out when the show starts, and my favorite, the show just stops for a while. These problems are rampant and don't get fixed until I go to the lobby and notify someone that the show is messed up. Movies are fun for kids but when the kids are running up and down the aisles and having a party in the front of the theater it is kind of distracts those of us who came to see the show. I have on several occasions had to notify staff to get some control over the wild kids and their theater hopping. OK, those are the needed improvements that would make my Rio 7 experience seem like a normal one. There are some good points, it is close to my house and I like the slushy slurpy drinks. So until there is a choice...they got me.

Not a Courpus Theater
Not a Courpus Theater: I remember when this theater was affordable. Had no complaints then either. I am a firm beleiver in you get what you pay for. The theater used to charge 3 dollars for anyone anytime.Today they charge "All Shows before 6pm - $3.00 Evening Prices: Adult $5.00 Child $3.00 Senior Citizens Price $4.00 "

Now I can understand raising prices for improvements but they have been raising the price little by little for years and I have not seen any improvements at all. This is the problem with businesses in kingsville. No ever wants to spend money on improvements. After all these increases I would expect at least on theater to have stadium seating. Is there? No not a one.

In Coupus Christi I can see a movie for $6.50. That is ONLY ONE dollar and fifty cents away from Rio 7 prices. From what I have monitored, Rio 7 raises thier prices 1 dollar every 2 years. It has been a year at 5 dollars which means that in a year or two we will be paying what we would pay in Corpus.

However Corpus has up to 16 theaters in one bulilding, and stadium seating in each theater with THX certified audio!!!!!!!!!! What will Rio 7 have when we pay 6-7 dollars in a couple of years?????? The exact same thing we've had since the theater opened.
