The wonderful Kay -- formerly of the Beehive in Williamsburg -- has made Ringo's her new home. Kay cuts the best hair in the city, guys or gals. She's incredibly attentive, careful and tons of fun. You won't be disappointed!

Kay (..or just K) started cutting my hair a couple of months ago when she worked at the Beehive Salon. My hair was crazy long, multi-colored, and super dry after traveling for 5 months. I desperately needed some color and style, with a bit of edge, but not too trendy. I had some ideas, shared what works for my hair and what doesn't and then asked Kay for some input. Kay knew what to do, chopped off 5 plus inches and gave me a great cut and color. I love it! I've been a huge fan since and often send admiring friends and strangers to Kay who are constantly asking me "who cuts your hair".

On my second trip to Ringo Yip's salon, I arrived at 3:45 for a 4pm appointment and he was finishing another client's hair. At 4, Ringo says to me, "Do you mind if I cut this other person's hair first? It will only take 15 min." I agree to be nice, but I am upset because I have had the appointment for a week. At 4:25 I interrupted his haircut to ask how long he thought mine would take since I had plans for after. He said he could start mine immediately. I sat down in the chair and reminded him that I was in the process of growing out my bangs. He said okay, and THEN CUT 3 INCHES OFF OF MY BANGS. Needless to say, it all went downhill from here. There are plenty of stylists in NYC who won't deliberately ignore what you have requested so don't waste your time with this idiot.
