Missed cooling problems and car broken into
Have always taken my car to the dealership for work but have been dissapointed the past two times. Last time I took my car in was because the engine was running hot. They couldn't find anything wrong with it so I drove to work. Coming home from work that day the engine was running hot again. Luckily I was pulling into my neighborhood when the gauge climbed higher than it had ever before. I cut my engine as the needle neared red to avoid major damage.
Costs: paid for a tow, paid for a rental car for two days, and missed half a day of work waiting for a rental car to be ready. At least they credited me the diagnostic fee from the day before when they found nothing wrong, which they do anyways if I allow them to service the car.
I mentioned there was another dissapointment, which was when my window got smashed in and car broken into while it was on their lot waiting for repairs. Radio stolen and papers thrown everywhere. My car getting broken into was not their fault but they should have some deterrent system in place. The manager was nice enough to cover my deductible to get the radio replaced and break-in damage repaired.
