Just walking from the parking lot, you smell the steaks grilling on the smoker. There is often a short wait, but by the time you are seated, your lips are smacking and your belly is crying, "Feed Me! " You will not be disappointed. Richie's really is an American Diner, and one of the owners, Jack or Linda, is probably going to visit with you at some point during your meal, just to greet you and make sure you are pleased and satisfied. The meal is well worth the money. My $12.95 steak included a free strawberry shortcake for dessert.

I am old enough to remember the fifties, as a child. The menu is genuine (i.e. meatloaf, creamed corn and the malts) and service was friendly, willing to explain the menu and checked back several times to make sure everything was fine. I live north of Santa Barbara and drive out of my way to eat with them when visiting Southern California. It was quite a surprise to learn there are three locations.‎

Richies Real American Diner is known for their good food and decor.
Something straight from the 50's and 60's.
Plenty of food for the price and the selection is unbelievable.

Richies may not be the healthiest place to eat, but they have a good selection of all american food. Decent burgers and fries, chocolate shakes, patty melts... all very good. The decor is very cute with a 50's theme. The prices are very reasonable for the amount of food they give you.
