Beware of This Restaurant!
Everyone, Beware of This Restaurant!!!

I ordered delivery service from the Rice Kitchen several times and I must say that the food was pretty good. However, each time that I ordered food from this place over the phone and used my credit/debit card, I was "purposely" overcharged.

After finally figuring out that they are complete "cheaters", I actually got into my car, drove to the restaurant and complained to the owner/manager that the totals on my receipts and the prices that they charged and deducted from my banking account, each time, were "VERY DIFFERENT". Also, I stated to him that because they had overcharged me so many times, that it was undoubtedly not a mistake and that I was going to report his restaurant to the appropriate authority.

To my disbeleif, he actually admitted that when they delivered the food to my home, I did not give them enough of a tip and that he had decided to ADD an additional tip onto my credit card. I told him that this was an illegal practice and I demanded my money back. Only then, did he offer to refund to me the difference in the cost of my food and what they had overcharged. Also, he didn't even have the decentcyto apologize for stealing my money in the first plac e.

The appropriate authorities and business affiliations will definitely receive complaints from me!

The food there is great and affordable
Although the restaurant could use some innovation, and they might need more waiters, but the food there I think is great. My friend and I hang out over there every weekend, and i brought my girlfriend there too, and she thought it was great. The thing is stick with the known dishes. I try new things once in a while, but they make some of my favorite dishes, I always get them because I couldn't even find them anywhere else (have you ever tried their eggs?). Believe me, I am Asian myself and I've eaten in numerous restaurants. I find Rice Kitchen to be the best one, price and food wise. I live in surgarland, and still come here every so often. Jason is a good guy.
Sure, you can spend over $60 in some other restaurants and might or might not get better food. But Rice Kitchen is a great neighborhood restaurant. I wish we have another one in Surgarland.

Worst in Town
Has to be the worst Fried rice I have ever had. It was bland and no taste what so ever. I should have tossed my money out the car window on the way to pick it up. Staff was not very friendly. Don't wast your time or money at Rice Kitchen.

good chinese the way you'ld want it
This place has good Chinese food, but there really isn't anything to separate from other places. Now that isn't a bad thing because when Chinese food is done good you're always glad you ordered it, and thats what we have here. If the price was a little lower I'd probably order from them more often.

Hot and Spicy, not so Nicey! Some Details....
The following is a detailed description of our Nine Eighty Lunch Club "adventure":

The food was hot and spicy. However, the other comments I'd like to make are not so nicey:

I suggest coughing up the extra $1.00 for White Meat for the General Tso's. God knows what you might cough up if you don't! Cold and soft egg rolls. Nice tasting rice with a light curry powder taste, but was room temperature. The entree had more vegetables and too much onions. Overall the food was poor! I liked the little school trays, which reminded me of parochial school. I am glad sister Magdeline wasn't there to force me too eat all of that bad stuff!

The bathroom was a deplorable F+. The "plus" is for location, offering an opportunity to see the Chef in action. The walk to the restroom was tight and hazardous (boxes blocking walkway). There was no "germ warfare" opening or closing the restroom door. It was wide open. It reminded me of hiking at my Grandparents farm and nature. The back door was open and brought in "unfresh" air, providing a Norman Rockwell summer wilderness view. I was startled to see a "peeping dog" (don't know if the dog's name was Tom) looking into the area where I stood.

The restaurant's staff was well rounded: Our server was the cashier, waiter, greeter and probably helped in the kitchen. Customers suffered. Also, the waiter mixed up orders: Wrong rice; Soups late; One diner is owed a refund...no egg roll). Also, the restaurant has an interesting order of serving a meal: Yes, the appetizer is served after the main dish!

Finally, we had to ask for a fortune cookie. I guess our fortunes should have read as follows: "Don't go to restaurant without first calling or you might be stuck eating at "Rice Kitchen"!
