A Disappointment
Sorry, Indy, the Canal was a wonderful idea and done very well...BUT...the city allowed whatever development possible to clutter its boundaries. How about the state parking garage that overlooks the canal. Or the back door of an office building? Not to mention the numerous, bland, suburban-type apartment buildings, some of which are already beginning to show their wear.
While the State Museum and the Historical Society certainly are great additions, you'd think there would be some restaurants, shops, etc to make the walk a bit more interesting. The San Antonio Riverwalk it AIN'T.
A nice, little diversion...but you cannot help but notice the wasted opportunity.
