Instead of selling a bunch of good, quality, boutique clothing on ebay, I decided to try my hand at the consignment store. Over 20 pieces and nothing sold. One dress had never been worn and had a retail price of $175.00. Other items included J. Crew, Banana Republic, and other well known quality clothes.

Yes, I took a chance by taking the clothes their, but NOTHING sold? Come on. I have a feeling they didn't even put all the clothes out and never called me to get the clothes they weren't taking on consignment.

And the woman that initially did the intake was on the snooty side. This store is nice to shop at, but I will never take a piece of my clothing there again. This is strictly for the overtly wealthy over the top rich people that don't need to worry about making a little extra cash.

This was a complete waste of time, energy, clothing and money.

After eating lunch at an Indian Restaurant in West Ashley a mural caught my eye on the side of a consignment store. I went in to the Reinvented consignment shop with my mother who was visitting for a few weeks. Initially we were surprised by the whimsical decor and amounts of clothing in the store. My mother suggested that I bring my clothing in after cleaning my closet. I generally donate to goodwill, but thought, why not! I have good taste in clothes and prefer clothing from Talbots, Anne Taylor, Banana Republic, Dillards, J Crew, etc. After cleaning out my closet, getting ready for the new fall selections I decided to bring my clothes to Reinvented. These were nice clothes, and I had two seperate bags for goodwill that I deemed unacceptable for an "Upscale" consignment shop. Before lugging the 6 bags of clothing/purses and shoes, I went into the shop and asked if they were currently taking consignments. The worker said yes, but looked at me as if I was some type of trash. I was dressed casually, but it was about 90 degrees that day, and I didn't think I looked that bad! I thought, whatever! I wasn't sure what she was thinking, maybe she was having a bad day. So, My husband and I carried the bags in and she told me too set them up on the counter. I did and she looked at us as if we had just set a bunch of garbage before her. She did not look at any of my clothes, which where neatly folded in paper shopping bags (Carolina Girl's bags mostly because my mother and I had done some damage with the Vera bags and Brighton Jewelery!) The worker than rudely stated that all clothes needed to be cleaned, as if!!!!!!!!! My clothes were cleaned, with few to no wrinkles. I was so shocked and confused by her treatment I wasn't sure how to react. I had never consigned before, but I wasn't expecting this! My husband was also very unsettled by this woman and her rudeness. Was she insulting us? and Why??? We would never bring some dirty clothes...and here I had taken the time to go to Reiunvented thinking that they were more tasteful than goodwill.Ha! So, my husband convinced me to stop at one other consignment shop before heading to goodwill, although I was hesitant. I felt humiliated by the beast of a woman at Reinvented especially because I couldn't think of anything to say to her at the moment. Ya know, when you wish you had some quick witted response and you think of a million things you should have said afterword, but not in the moment that you really need it? Anyway, to make a long story a bit shorter, we went to Consign Charleston on Wappoo Road, were the worker was completely gracious and charming, and I will continue to bring my clothes there to consign. Overall, Reinvented is classless, tasteless and useless.
