great bedside manner, but never on time
When dealing with psychiatrists, it is important to find someone you feel comfortable with. Dr Reiner has a very laid back personality. Still, he encourages following a holistic approach so he is not pushing you to take a million pills in order for you to feel “happy.” He is genuinely interested in getting you to feel good with as little pill help as possible, but also teaches you that depression is a chemical imbalance and for some people, taking pills for the rest of your life may be necessary. My one gripe with Dr. Reiner is that if I ever had a morning appointment he was ALWAYS late…usually at least 20 minutes. And it’s not that he had a previous patient since I was the first appointment of the day. He literally would just stroll into the office late, than chit chat with the secretary, even though he was already late to see me. In terms of medical knowledge and bedside manner he was great; in terms of punctuality, he was not very good.
