Used music and movies for cheap
I found all the old music and movies I love in this place as well as many new ones for a price so low I couldn't believe it! If you're gonna buy a record or a movie check these guys out before you goto Borders. The money you save and the rare gems you found make this a spot worth hitting up everytime you're looking for new tunes.

The only down side is the staff are kinda snobby and uptight. They listen to lots of music we've probably never even heard of and they look down their nose at you if you try to sell them used music they don't care about.

Good music, Snobbing employees
They have two locations - this one and another in Wicker Park [Wicker Park seams a little bigger, but I'm not sure on exact size of both locations]

The store is well known for having everything ever recorded in a used format [vinyl, cd, etc]

They are great for finding obscure out of date records and cd's....they are bad for having employees who look down their noses at you for not knowing the names of all their favorite indi rock bands.

Seriously - its amazing that in a music market so saturated with itunes, kazaa and myspace music downloads - some no talent hipster dork thinks he still has job security at a record store. Don't these people know we don't have to put up with their snobby bs to purchase music? Get a life, people! Or get a real job.

Great Selection of Records by Chris K. at InsiderPages
Cramped space, but well worth the effort. Come in with an open mind, as the perusal process can be tedious, but it's more often than not rewarding. The staff are typically busy and a little standoffish, but willing to help and happy to recommend their latest favorites.

Indie Hotspot by Jason G. at InsiderPages
Don't go there for the latest pop release but if you want a rare or older indie release, give it a try. They also have a good selection of slightly used DVDs for $5-10. Definitely a hipster crowd, but I've never had a problem with the help.

Mediocre pretty much by Matthew P. at InsiderPages
While I certainly enjoy the selection Reckless offers and the prices thereof, shopping there is not always a pleasant experience for everyone. I've been there (specifically the Broadway location) several times and have met with service that ranges anywhere from overtly friendly and knowledgeable to downright apathetic and rude. Luckily, I must have a look that screams indie cred and rarely am a victim of the latter. But my less hip friends despise the store because the condescending, unfriendly attitude is the one they're more than likely to experience. Their stereotypes of surly, know-it-all, alt.indie record store employees lingers because of the interactions they've had there. Indeed, during my most recent visit there, the clerk chose to roll his eyes and mock the customer who was in line ahead of me to me once she left. I don't care how little they're paid to do it, treating customers with respect is part of their job. I hate having to defend an otherwise awesome store to my friends because they've been ignored and mistreated there.
