I changed insurance companies when I changed jobs and learned that my primary care physician was not part of the plan. I needed a referral right away, and called my insurance company asking for anybody in my area I could see quickly for my referral, and planned to research it and pick someone else later.

Welll, I got very lucky. Dr. Raphael turned out to be the best doctor I could have asked for as a primary care physician. For that first visit, which I expected to take about 5 minutes to get my referral and get a bill, he spent about 45 minutes completing a personal medical history. He's extremely thorough and anticipates possible problems instead of waiting till you come to him. For example, when I was pregnant and went to him for an unrelated issue, he asked if my OBGYN had tested my husband and I for a particular trait since we are both partially Italian. It turned out my husbnad was, indeed, a carrier for it.

I can't refer him enough. He and his staff really seem to care about their patients.
